New Member Process

Hi, my name is Larry DeZonia, Membership Director for SIR 102. Since you’re coming to us through the Internet, we’re assuming that you don’t know any of our Branch 102 members who would sponsor you. Don’t worry, we have a process in place to take care of that – here’s all you need to do:

Contact me by clicking this link If I have not contacted you within a few days, please send a 2nd message as I've probably been out of town and somehow missed your email from my phone.

Upon learning of your interest, I will contact you (preferably by phone, so please give me your number) to get an idea of your interests and invite you to our next luncheon – held on the second Tuesday of the month at the Carmichael Elks Lodge at 5631 Cypress Ave. in Carmichael.   I'll register you as a guest for lunch and make arrangements for you to meet other members.  If you have not sent in an application via email, you'll be given one during check-in. There is no pressure to fill it out, but by the end of the luncheon, you may be convinced you'd like to join.  If so, just turn a completed application in to me.

At the next meeting after submitting an application, you'll be asked to attend the 9:30 a.m. Branch Executive Committee (BEC) meeting.  At that time you'll be introduced and asked to say a few words about yourself.  After this meeting, the BEC will vote on your application.

Once your application is on file, as a Pending Member you may participate in any of our activities while awaiting introduction to the BEC at your second luncheon. The entire process usually takes about two months, barring any scheduling difficulties you may have.  When you are a Member, you will be receiving an email requesting if you will or will not be attending our next luncheon.  It is very important you send us your response so we can get an accurate attendance count.  This must be done, at the latest, by the Thursday before the Tuesday luncheon.

Thank you for your interest. We hope that you decide to attend one of our meetings as a guest, elect to submit a membership application and become an active member.  Lunch is on us for guests!  SIR is a GREAT organization, and, of course, we think we have a great branch.  Thanks again.
